Enrichment Programs

We believe that good childcare depends upon consistent caregiving in a home-like atmosphere. Children grow and learn best in a safe environment that provides opportunities to explore, create and communicate with other children and adults. These groups function independently but cooperatively, following routines appropriate to individual needs. The program is designed to be inclusive of all children, including those with identified disabilities and special learning and developmental needs. The Center’s program is designed to include both planned and spontaneous activities in response to children’s interests. Experiences with music, movement, art, language and building are incorporated into daily plans. Regularly scheduled snacks and meals, rest time, indoor and outdoor play, and routines in physical caregiving promotes the child’s health, comfort and ability to care for his/herself. There is maximum flexibility for the children as a group and as individuals. Children are encouraged to develop a positive self-image, to learn inner controls and to cooperate with peers and caregivers. Clearly defined limits help them recognize and accept their emotions and express their feelings as they grow and feel secure in the world around.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Art

Art classes facilitate development of fine motor skills, ability to see beauty in the world and at the same time communicate with other kids in class.  We learn different trends in art and artists who represent them: drawing, molding, appliqué.  Art classes are created taking into consideration children’s ages to allow for individual approach.

Languages

It was scientifically established that up to the age of 5 a child’s brain is capable to learn many different foreign languages without much effort.  This research made us introduce several different languages, which are Russian and Spanish if you wish your child to participate.  Chinese language is to be introduced at a later date.

Music and Dancing

Music lessons help children learn about musical instruments and musical art in general.  Dancing lessons promote physical development (motion coordination) and develop musical senses (rhythm).

Physical Education

Daily morning exercises and a special class for kids ages 3-5 contribute to general physical development of children in our daycare. Physical exercises are selected taking into consideration children’s abilities.  PE allows children to develop not only physical strength, but set fun energetic mood for the whole day.  Kids ages 3-5 participate in a class taught by a professional gymnastics coach.
